Are you looking for a capable new full-size SUV in the Lemon Grove area? Two of the best choices on the market right now are the 2022 Grand Wagoneer and GMC Yukon Denali. While you’ll find powerful performance specs, roomy interior cabins, and plenty of advanced features in both of these SUVs, only one will ultimately be right for you and suit your driving needs. To help you make an informed decision, the team at San Diego Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has put together a guide outlining the major differences in the Denali Yukon vs. Grand Wagoneer, including technology, cabin space, performance, and more.
While the Grand Wagoneer and the Yukon Denali both deliver strong engine performance, there are some important distinctions between the two SUVs. As the GMC Yukon’s top-level trim, the Denali gives you the choice of a standard 420-horsepower 6.2L V8 engine and a 277-horsepower 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine. The Yukon Denali pairs these engines with a 10-speed automatic transmission and either a two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configuration. On the Grand Wagoneer, you have only one engine option, but it’s more powerful than either of the Yukon’s engines: a 6.4L V8 engine delivering 471 horsepower, with 4×4 capability and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Grand Wagoneer also outmatches the Yukon Denali when it comes to towing power, with the ability to haul up to 9.850 pounds compared to the Yukon’s 8,100 pounds.
El Cajon drivers will find no shortage of convenient technology inside the cabins of both the GMC Yukon Denali and the Grand Wagoneer. The Yukon boasts features like an HD Rear Vision Camera, a 10.2-inch GMC Premium Infotainment System, and a Power Sliding Center Console. However, the Grand Wagoneer pulls ahead with a wider variety of standard features throughout the cabin:
The Grand Wagoneer and Yukon Denali are both full-size SUVs, so you know you’ll be getting plenty of space for passengers and cargo alike no matter which you choose. However, there are some important trade-offs when it comes to space that you should be aware of.
The Yukon Denali has more cargo volume with the second and third rows of seats folded down, but the Grand Wagoneer offers more space with all three rows upright. You’ll also find more space for front-row passengers in the Yukon, while the Grand Wagoneer has a more spacious second and third row. If you plan on hauling a lot of cargo by yourself or with one other passenger, the Yukon may be a better choice. If you’d rather carry a full load of passengers with more space for everyone, the Grand Wagoneer is the SUV for you! Here are the full interior dimensions for both SUVs:
